- What does Etchedweb specialize in?
- We specialize in ecommerce systems,
specifically eTOTAL™.
We also accept other database related
web sites and those who are strictly HTML.
The best way to find out if we can do what you would like is to
call us.
- How soon can Etchedweb deliver an
eTOTAL™ related web site?
- In general, it can take from 2 weeks
up to a month depending on workload. This figure is also highly
dependent on your timely manner of handing over information to
us that is required to complete your web site.
If you would like it sooner, it is possible to put a rush on it
at additional cost. You must understand that eTOTAL™ is a
complete Custom solution and not a 'boxed' product. Therefore,
enough time must be allowed for Custom work to be completed.
- Do I need a merchant account for eTOTAL™?
- What do I need to provide secure ordering?
- You will need a SSL certificate for
secure ordering. A low cost certificate costs approximately $125
per year and is not included in eTOTAL™. Don't panic! We
will guide you throughout the whole process of setting up your
complete ecommerce system in a timely manner. At that time we
will discuss what paperwork you will need to acquire one and we
will submit the request on your behalf!
- How much data entry will I need to
do?
- Once your eTOTAL™ ecommerce
web site is operational, you will need to enter the products that
you would like to sell into eTOTAL™. This is easily done
on the back-end to your system and is as easy as using a regular
form. Practically anyone who's used a browser before can use one.
If you currently have an existing web site with a database it
may be possible to migrate most or all of your product entry to
the new eTOTAL™ system. This will strictly depend on your
current system
- Where can I get a domain name?
- There are numerous places to get
a domain name some of which are a lot less expensive than the
more commonly known Network Solutions and Register.com. At the
time of this writing you can get a domain name as low as $9/year.
We will help you obtain one!
- How do I transfer my domain name to
the new site?
- This depends on who your registrar
is. Don't worry, we will help you with this too when the time
comes in a manner that minimizes your downtime (in case you have
an older site live)
- How much work will this be for me?
- Depends on the site you wish to build,
but in general, we take care of all of it except for the parts
that we will need from you such as the content and images for
the site. You will also need to do the product entry. We will
do product entry too at additional cost.
- How do I get started?
- Well, first you must speak with one
of our web developers to make sure we provide what you are looking
for and confirm the price. Once that is taken care of, you will
be asked to sign a contract authorizing us to start your web site.
Once all paperwork is complete, we will begin immediately and
the rest should be smooth sailing.
- How about the looks of the site? How
does that go?
- As we've said before, we create Custom
solutions, and we do not use any pre-built templates anywhere!
Therefore, the first stage of development will be to develop a
look that mirrors your company feel. Throughout this stage we
will request that you take a look at polished Custom designs for
your new site. With your comments we will go back to the 'drawing
table' and implement your requests. Once you are satisfied with
the look we will proceed to other more technical areas and complete
your site.
- What about hosting? How much?
- Our clients have preference for hosting
on our servers. Our hosting packages are competitively priced
and in general, we provide more flexibility for your web site
than other host do. Some advanced features such as the traffic
log services of eTOTAL™ require special consideration that
some hosts refuse to accommodate to. Our servers are set up for
these capabilities and are competitively priced against other
hosts.
- What kind of web sites do you do?
- Etchedweb can develop just about any type of web site at a competitive
